The origin of Rum.
The history of rum (Spanish: Ron, French: Rhum) begins with Christopher Columbus introducing the sugarcane plant to the Caribbean. Sugarcane thrived there so well that the sugarcane culture quickly spread throughout the Caribbean islands. Initially, rum was the drink of slaves and forced laborers and was only used by the upper class for medicinal purposes or in case brandy was not available. Today, there is a seemingly endless variety of different tastes, colors, and aromas. You can find a carefully selected range of rums in our online shop. Of course, you can also try one or the other rum/ron/rhum on-site.
